Memo can record audio, create on-device transcripts, organize memories on a visual timeline, and help you add context such as places, people, moods, photos, music, and notes.

Writing & documents
Steno is a focused writing app for creating, organizing, and preserving documents across your Apple devices.
Steno does not operate its own servers. Syncing and storage are handled securely through Apple’s CloudKit and iCloud services. Your documents remain tied to your Apple ID and under your control.
Steno also supports importing and exporting files to locations you choose, including iCloud Drive and on-device storage.

These apps do not operate their own application servers, use advertising, or include analytics or tracking frameworks. We do not sell your information or use your content for marketing.
Memo content—including recordings, transcripts, photos, notes, locations, and attachments—is stored on your device. When iCloud and CloudKit are available, Memo may sync your memos through Apple’s iCloud services.
Steno documents are stored locally or synced through Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services. Neither app sends your content to a separate Mikail server.
Memo uses Apple’s Speech framework to transcribe recordings on your device when supported by your iPhone, language, and installed speech assets.
Some iPhones or languages may not support on-device transcription. Recording availability and transcription availability may differ.
Memo only accesses information you choose to provide or permissions you grant, including:
You can change these permissions at any time in your iPhone’s Settings app.
You can edit and delete your content inside the apps. If iCloud syncing is enabled, the apps attempt to synchronize those changes through CloudKit.
If you disable iCloud, content remains stored locally on your device. If you delete an app without exporting your data first, locally stored content may be lost.
Exported files are saved only where you choose, such as on-device storage or iCloud Drive. We do not upload exported files to our servers.
